Bridal Veil

My cousin got married in August and I had the privilege of making her veil.  She wanted something sparkly so I beaded the edges with crystal beads.  It was quite the process, but she loved it which made it totally worth it.

You can see the beading a little better in this picture.  

It looks much prettier on the lovely bride, of course.

Sometimes when you're at work you bedazzle a skull

I suppose that's part of the fun of working in a costume shop.  You get a bit of everything, from bird feet to ball gowns to jeweled skull shirts.

This shirt is for "Vernon God Little" that is now playing at the Babcock Theatre at the University of Utah.  Do you see my inspiration for the skull?

The Emperor's New Clothes

For class we were asked to design a children's musical of "The Emperor's New Clothes." We each chose a children's book to base our illustrations on.  I chose Eve Tharlet's version of the same fairy tale.  I loved the stubby little people and the warm colors.

That's the start of my designs. I need to scan in my other renderings. The ministers were very fun to do.  It was fun to do a children's musical where things were cute, simple, and obvious.  I can't wait to show you!
